SECRET ROOM EXHIBITION / blue carpet — Lamija Halilagić
The artistry of generations of artists who have been educated for the 21st century suggests the inevitable and very skillful use of technology in expression, especially IT. Lamija Halilagić is part of this generation, considering her age as well as her sensibilities. Referring to her acquired academic knowledge, Lamija in her drawings is reminiscent of Cocteau, but at the same time in the gouache moments she reflects on Segal, and with the use of text she points to conceptual art. Having an exquisite sense for line, coloured surfaces and a certain puzzle behind the titles of her work, she is able to communicate with the viewer — a public familiar with the use of technology and capable of absorbing more information simultaneously and succinctly. (written by: Mate Lajoš Lazar)
"For me, these works have a lot to do with voyeurism. Allowing the public to peek into the artist's private space and see what is happening behind closed doors. The very act of creating an art work is an exhibition that the artist is doing with herself. This is a chance for the public to enter into the rooms of my dotty characters and find out about some of their doings, desires and thoughts." (L.H.)
The exhibition contains 10 works in mixed media, one oil painting, one installation and a Handbook of Visual Experience (collage book).
